Bloom Investment Counsel, Inc. Q1/22 Investment Market Commentary

Watch M. Paul Bloom, CIO at Bloom Investment Counsel, Inc., discuss the firm’s strong performance in Q1 2022, with particular focus on specific investments that helped drive these results. The discussion will also touch on Bloom’s investment philosophy (dividend investing) and our outlook for the remainder of the year.

“What’s happened over the last quarter is that the market being powered, over the last few years, by technology stocks has somewhat disappeared. And the market, now, is more on its own without technology leading the way.

The market is still very high, but other stocks have moved up in their valuation and technology stocks have moved down a little bit.

That actually is very good for our sort of investing because, not because we don’t like technology stocks, but because technology stocks by and large don’t pay dividends, and we only invest in dividend-paying common shares.

When things, now, are normalized, then we start to shine. And indeed, in the last three months, we’ve been shining.”
